BGC Hosts Iftar with Orphans and YASKA

Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC) in collaboration with the Acting Village Heads of Kampong Jerudong A and Kg Jerudong B, jointly organised an Iftar ceremony with orphans at the Royal Berkshire Hall in Jerudong Park and & Polo Country Club.

The Iftar ceremony was organised in conjunction with BGC’s Project Amali, with the aim of strengthening its relationship with the local communities and to inculcate the spirit of benevolence and giving among BGC staff.

A total of 43 orphans and 10 children from Yayasan Kanser Kanak-Kanak (YASKA) graced the event alongside invited guests and BGC staff, to spend some quality time and enjoy the breaking of fast together.

Captain Abdul Mateen expressed in his opening remarks saying, “As Ramadhan is a month of giving, BGC is fortunate to be able to look after the well-being of our stakeholders—like the local community here in Jerudong, the orphans as well as the children of YASKA. We will continue to serve our community with their interests in mind and cater our social investment initiatives to their needs, as part of Project Amali.”

BGC, through its Project Amali, also presented donations to the orphans in the form of “Eidiya”—through its internal donation drive among BGC staff. With Project Amali, BGC aims to inculcate the spirit of benevolence among BGC staff and at the same time align with Project Amali’s objectives to interact and build relationships with the local communities.
