BGC Marks Significant Milestone with Last ADP50 BGC Cargo Delivery

Brunei Gas Carriers celebrates 50 years of LNG shipping

BGC delegates led by Managing Director, Captain Abdul Mateen, marked the celebration of 50 years of LNG shipping with a series of special courtesy visits to stakeholders in Japan. The momentous 50-year milestone celebrates the longstanding history between Brunei and Japan, and also marks the first voyage of B-Class vessel SS Gadinia (which was later renamed to Bebatik after Brunei Shell Tankers took over) in 1972.

BGC delegates visited four LNG terminals altogether, namely, Sodegaura Terminal, Negishi Terminal, Higashi Ohgishima Terminal and Futtsu Terminal. Courtesy visits were also made to our LNG colleagues at Mitsubishi Corporation Tokyo & Osaka, and shipping agents from Inchcape Shipping Services, and Global Energy.

During each of the visits, BGC feted the longstanding relationship between all parties, specifically in the collaborative commitment in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery of LNG cargoes to the customers. To commemorate the event, BGC presented each Head of Terminal with a special painting of the first Bruneian LNG vessel, SS Bebatik, and the latest Bruneian LNG vessel, MV Amadi.

BGC also took the opportunity to meet with His Excellency Haji Shahbudin bin Haji Musa, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Japan.
