Fire Safety and Prevention Awareness

Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC) recently held a Fire Safety and Prevention Awareness on Tuesday, 10th October 2023 at its headquarters in Jerudong in collaboration with the Brunei Fire Rescue Department (BFRD).

The course aimed to educate individuals and raise awareness to prevent and handle fire-related emergencies effectively. A total of 20 participants comprising employees from BGC participated in the workshop.

At BGC, we ensure the safety of our workplace is of utmost importance and that everyone should come together to prioritize fire safety and prevention.

BGC Mental Health Day Celebration

In conjunction with World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2023 which carries the theme “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right,” Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC) participated in a Mental Health Symposium 2023 organized by the Ministry of Health.

At BGC, we value mental health and wellness, recognizing that the impact extends beyond measurable human costs. We believe that prioritizing mental health is crucial for the overall well-being of our staff, as it helps foster a workplace that promotes and support their mental well-being.

Our dedication to mental health aligns with the Brunei’s Vision 2035 that is to establish a healthy and prosperous nation and the Brunei Darussalam Mental Health Action Plan 2022-2025.

AMANI Time Charter Party Extension Agreement Signing Ceremony

Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC) marked an important milestone with the signing of an extension agreement for the “AMANI Time Charter Party Agreement” with Brunei LNG on Thursday, 5 October 2023 at BGC Office in Jerudong.

The extension agreement was signed on behalf of BGC by Captain Abdul Mateen Abdurrahman Liew, Managing Director of BGC, and for Brunei LNG, Yang Mulia Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, Managing Director and CEO.

With the signing of extension agreement, the time-charter party services, provided by LNG Carrier “Amani” will be extended for a further ten years effective November 2024.

Captain Abdul Mateen in his welcoming remarks stated, “This event marks a significant milestone in our partnership as it serves as a powerful symbol of the profound trust and collaboration shared between BGC and Brunei LNG. The continuation of this agreement is of utmost importance, as it plays a significant role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and sustainable maritime transportation of LNG to Brunei Darussalam’s valued customers internationally”.

In attendance to witness the signing as Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo Bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister (Energy) at The Prime Minister’s Office.
