Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC) celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, The Empire Brunei, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. The event was held to commemorate the establishment of the company on March 9, 1998, and to celebrate all the important historical milestones and achievements.
Present as joint guests of honor were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.
The event proceeded with the fourth installment of the Maritime Talent Pipeline Achievements Ceremony (MTPAC), starting with the promotion to rank of BGC ship officers and followed by the signing of contracts for BGC scholars. The event also witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BGC and its national and international counterparts and the launch of BGC’s 25th Anniversary Coffee Table Book, capturing BGC’s 25-year journey in shipping and maritime, which began with its establishment in 1998. BGC also unveiled a timeline tunnel showcasing its 25-year history, followed by a guided tour of a commemorative gallery. The gallery was envisioned as a museum-like exhibition in the form of a 20-foot BGC A-Class vessel replica.
