Dire times due to COVID-19 proved challenging not only for Brunei but the world at large. Our BGC front liners are no exception as they continue to ensure the nation continues to safely deliver LNG to Brunei’s international customers under these challenging conditions.
As we adjust to a new norm, BGC has also had to adjust many ways of working especially when it came to how we carry out events. This year under the umbrella of our annual Project Amali and as part of BGC’s Social Investment (SI) initiatives, BGC staff came together to raise money for the COVID-19 cause. A donation of $13,555.20 worth of medical items was presented to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to support Brunei’s efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam.
Present to receive the donation from BGC was the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Hj Md Isham bin Hj Jaafar, and handing over on behalf of BGC was Second Engineer, Hj Nor Mahadi Hj Hosaini.
The donation contributed by BGC staff was enough to supply a total of 86 boxes of respirators masks; 198 packs of shoe covers; 1026 face visors; 174 boxes of aprons; and 236 packs of head covers.
BGC would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who joined in solidarity to contribute towards this effort.
