BGC celebrated an unforgettable evening in its very own Tropical Paradise. The Annual Dinner & Long Service Awards 2025 brought together employees, families, and friends for a night filled with warmth and appreciation.

The company honoured team members marking 20, 15 and 10 years of service — individuals whose loyalty and dedication have played a significant role in shaping BGC’s journey. Fleet Officers, Fleet Ratings, and onshore staff were also recognised for their perseverance and contributions throughout a challenging year, where their commitment remained unwavering.

BGC also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families who continue to support their loved ones, especially the seafarers who spend long periods away from home. Their strength, patience, and encouragement are deeply valued across the organisation.

It was truly a night that celebrated the people who make BGC what it is today.

#TeamBGC recently came together to pause, reflect, and recharge in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month.

The day began with a Mental Health Workshop: Understanding Your Money Mindset, delivered by our facilitator from JIWA, followed by an engaging, interactive problem-solving session.

In the afternoon, staff shifted into relaxation and wellbeing activities — from painting and board games to personalised 1-on-1 Financial Wellness Consultations designed to support informed, confident decision-making.

At BGC, we embrace a holistic approach to wellbeing. We recognise that financial wellness is mental wellness, and taking time to nurture our mental, emotional, and financial health helps us build a stronger, more resilient workplace.

Safety Day is more than just an event — it’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to protecting lives, our workplace, and the environment. Through interactive booths, engaging activities, and open conversations, we challenged ourselves to think about how we respond to risks, both big and small.

BGC Managing Director, Captain Abdul Mateen, reminded everyone that: Safety is not just about procedures — it’s about the everyday choices we make. We’re still buzzing from the incredible “Malam Silaturrahim” event proudly co-organised by BSP (@bsp_company), Brunei LNG (@bruneilng), BGC (@bruneigascarriers), BMC (@bruneimethanol_company), and BFI (@bruneifertilizerindustries) last Friday! Held at the festive Gerai Perayaan nightly stage, this was our joyful contribution to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah’s 79th birthday celebrations. The atmosphere was incredibly lively, as the crowd sang along and enjoyed cultural dances, amazing live local artists and talent!

We were also honored to host Acting Belait District Officer, Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Mohammad, as our Guest of Honour, alongside respected Legislative Council Members, Penghulu Mukims, and Village Heads.

It was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces enjoying the performances, and we sincerely hope the fantastic turnout also brought a wonderful boost to the dedicated local vendors surrounding the stage. What a beautiful night of togetherness and celebration for His Majesty’s birthday!

At BGC, we’re proud to honour the vital role seafarers play in keeping global trade moving — and this year, for Day of the Seafarer, we took our celebrations a step further!

As part of Ocean Week Brunei, our very own Deck Cadet Stephanie Lu represented BGC at the Future Ocean Changemakers Youth Forum as a panel speaker, sharing her insights on empowering women in marine careers. Her voice reflects the future of a more inclusive and diverse maritime industry.

As part of the Changemakers Youth Forum, we also had the pleasure of hosting students from the Future Ocean Changemakers Youth Forum, where they explored our commitment to sustainable practices and environmental compliance, and got a hands-on look at maritime innovation during their visit to BGC’s state-of-the-art Bridge Simulator Training Centre (BSTC).

Together, we’re navigating toward a greener, more inclusive maritime future.
