BGC celebrated a significant milestone on 12 June 2024, with the first LNG cargo delivery by BGC A-Class vessel AMANI, to Thi Vai LNG Terminal in Vietnam. The inaugural delivery demonstrates BGC’s continued commitment to support the growth of the maritime and energy industry, contributing to Brunei’s economic progress.

In the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC) in collaboration with Shell in Brunei and Brunei Shell Joint Ventures, hosted a distinguished “Gemilang Syawal 2025” event on Sunday, 27 April 2025, at the prestigious Royal Berkshire Hall, Tarindak d’Polo Restaurant. This event brought together senior leaders and key stakeholders for a morning of celebration, networking, and festive camaraderie.

The gathering served as a platform to engage with esteemed guests from the government, ambassadors, and senior representatives from private organizations—partners whose contributions are integral to BGC, Shell in Brunei and Brunei Shell Joint Ventures success and Brunei’s economic growth.

Guests were treated to a delightful array of local entertainment and a spread of traditional and festive delicacies, embodying the true spirit of Hari Raya. One of the Sunnahs of Prophet Muhammad during the holy month of Ramadan is to care for and celebrate orphans, as emphasized in the hadith:

“The one who cares for an orphan and I will be like this in Paradise (and he held his two fingers together (the index and middle fingers) to illustrate their closeness.” -Sahih al-Bukhari.

This year, the event continued with Majlis Doa Kesyukuran and Tahlil Ceremony in conjunction with BGC’s 27th Anniversary held at Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque, Jerudong. BGC was honored to share this blessing and joy with the presence of orphaned children of former BGC staff, orphan Kg Jerudong A & B and underprivileged students from SMARTER Brunei.

Among those in attendance were BGC’s former Managing Directors, the Village Heads of Kampong Jerudong A and B, and the Vice President of SMARTER Brunei.

At the event, smiles were seen on the faces of 80 recipients as we handed monetary donations, exclusively contributed by the employees of BGC. BGC hopes that these contributions bring some festive excitement to the children and their families with the arrival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Held in conjunction with Ramadhan, the ceremony reflects BGC’s commitment to faith, remembrance, and corporate solidarity.
